Seed vs Soil - what else can we do?
Venue: #103 (1F)

Despite the major technological advances achieved by ART in the last three decades, the success rate of ART to achieve a pregnancy remains at an overall of 30-35%. Success of ART is dependent on the quality of the gametes, egg, and sperm (the seed) as well as the endometrium receptivity (the soil) to ensure successful implantation and the development of a normal viable pregnancy. Join our REI experts as they share and review on the latest developments in the field of gametogenesis and implantation to discover ways to improve ART success for couples seeking to conceive.

Safe and Comfortable vNOTES
Venue: # 101 & 102 (1F)

As the use of MIGS for treatment of gynecologic disease has advanced, training of novice and experienced surgeons has become paramount. Trainees benefit from standardized curricula to ensure sound skills and knowledge. Recently, transvaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (vNOTES) has been launched into daily practical MIGS of several AOFOG societies other than conventional vaginal, laparoscopic, or robotic surgeries. vNOTES is highly preferred due to its painless and scarless approach. On the other hand, it is also true that there is a definite difficulty for becoming a good vNOTES surgeon. In this interactive workshop, speakers will share experience with integrating a vNOTES training program including successes and struggles. Experience with the essentials in vNOTES for the standardized and safe surgical knowledge and skills will be highlighted. The precise instructions of safe transvaginal entry and scope handling will be presented in detail followed by discussion of surgical technique to facilitate vNOTES approach in the appropriately selected patient. The attendees will then be able to put this knowledge into action during the hands-on workshop. At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be equipped to incorporate and enhance a successful training program in vNOTES.

Scientific Writing
Venue: #109 (1F)

Generally speaking, academic papers transcend “time” and “space”. In other words, scientific works are like a kind of time capsule in which we can feel the observation and intelligence of our predecessors in the past. If we write a paper in English, scientists in countries all over the world can read it. We must not only receive the wisdom of our predecessors, but we must also leave something behind for future generations yet to come. This is a bridge of intelligence that transcends generations.
The Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Research (JOGR) is the English-language journal of the Japanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the official journal of the Asia and Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOFOG). Papers submitted to JOGR are first assigned to an Associated Editor (AE) in their respective fields. These AEs consist of about 100 people, mainly from university hospitals in Japan, and are responsible for handling about 2-3 papers per month.
This academic session will explain how to write such basic academic papers from the viewpoints of editors and experienced authorities. In addition, basic statistical methods and examples of fraudulent papers will be introduced to outline points to keep in mind when submitting papers.

Violence Against Women: Roles of Ob/Gyn in the Hidden Epidemic
Venue: #110 (1F)

This workshop is crafted to empower Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) medical staff to take proactive measures in addressing and combating Violence Against Women (VAW). Through a comprehensive exploration of the various dimensions of VAW, participants will gain insights into its prevalence and impact. This understanding goes beyond recognizing visible signs of abuse, extending to the emotional, psychological, and societal impact on victims. Participants will be encouraged to explore the intersectionality of VAW, considering how various factors such as age, socio-economic status, and cultural background can intersect to shape individuals' experiences.
Ultimately, this enhanced understanding will empower Ob/Gyn medical staff to contribute more effectively to the screening, prevention, and response efforts related to VAW. Participants will be better equipped to approach cases with sensitivity, offer tailored support, and actively engage in advocacy and preventive measures within their professional capacities.
This workshop includes three thematic units which focus on (i) Understanding VAW, (ii) Role of Ob/Gyn in VAW, (iii) Fighting against VAW: supporting and strengthening strategies. Each unit is introduced with some reference to the study and some interactive discussion.
The interaction encourages collaboration through case studies, group discussions, and Q&A sessions, fostering a dynamic environment for sharing insights, challenges, and best practices.

Objectives
This workshop aims to empower Ob/Gyn medical staff to proactively address and combat VAW. Participants will get a better grasp of the varied nature of this global issue through an interactive workshop, boosting their ability to contribute to its screening, prevention, and response.

Expectations
This program empowers participants, particularly Ob/Gyn medical staff, to comprehensively address VAW. Participants will gain insights into the nuanced forms of VAW, its global and regional impact on women's health, and the proactive role OB/GYN professionals can play in prevention. Practical guidance on detecting signs and immediate response strategies, including medical care and support services, will be provided. Emphasizing the AOFOG region, the program explores generating evidence, awareness, and advocacy strategies.

Participants
This program is designed for Ob/Gyn medical staff who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of women affected by violence. Join us in this transformative workshop as we collectively respond to the call for action against VAW, promoting a healthcare community dedicated to creating a safer and more equitable world.
